Wolfgang Ernest Henn was a long time life member of Post 10217. Most of the currently active local members probably have never met him. He passed away on 16 December 2013 and was cremated on 18 December at Wat Nong Pai Lom, near Army Hospital. Two of our members attended the final part of the ceremony, as word was not passed among Post members until just a few hours before the cremation. Most of the following information about Wolfgang came from a local friend of his by the name of George. They both were part of a small group of old timers who would meet for coffee in the morning at Dunkin Donuts in Korat. George said that Wolfgang was probably born in Germany and was a young boy during WWII. He refused to join the Hitler Youth organization, and got in some trouble over that. He later served in the US Army and Air Force, was a veteran of the Korean War, and retired after 20 plus years of service. He lived here in Thailand for 40 years or more, and is survived by his wife, a daughter, and two sons.
